Commanders, TF19:
- Minister Rose has been in contact with the government of Kai and through her efforts, arrangements have been made for our first official venture into the Treibol Star Cluster under our new orders.
- The Ark Royal is to lead a flotilla comprised of the USS Malcom Reed, USS Winston Churchill, USS Adamant and USS Shaka. Accompanying us will be the FCS Thurisaz and 11 Kai freighters. All twelve ships will be loaded with supplies and trade goods for delivery to Qwarbonarra - the homeworld of the species known as the Qwert.
- The mission, designated Operation: Twilight Guard, will be two-fold:
- 1. The Primary Objective is to deliver the supplies and trade goods safely to the Qwert homeworld. Since the end of the Dominion War, there has been a marked increase in piracy in the region. A successful trade run between Alpha Treibol IV and Qwarbonarra has not occurred in 5 months, leading to hardship on both sides. This problem is compounded by the fact the pirates may not be of domestic origin. The Malcolm Reed, Adamant and Shaka will be there for the purposes of defense and support. In the event pirates are encountered, they will assist Ark Royal in successfully capturing and detaining the attackers for interrogation and investigation into pirate activities in the region. With luck we'll discover their origins and uncover their base(s) of operations and be able to stop the problem at its source.
- Fortunately, the Thurisaz's crew has a decade of experience dealing with piracy on the Bajoran frontier. They will work to ensure that the Kai freighter crews are trained and prepared for piracy assault situations. Hopefully their experience will help the Kai to ensure their cargo gets to the destination with no lives lost on this and all future runs.
- 2. Our Secondary Objective is diplomatic nature. The Kingdom of Qwert is quite interested in meeting with representatives of the Federation and its representatives are looking forward to opening formal communication with us during this trade mission. For this reason, Minister Rose will be accompanying us on this mission aboard the Winston Churchill. The Ark Royal will support and protect the Winston Churchill until arrival at the Qwert homeworld.
- We have the opportunity here to make positive change in this region.
