- Captain(s) Ahkileez, Makeda & Thomson,
- The 101st Operational Wing's mission to the Romulan frontier has been postponed for the time being. A new mission that requires the expertise of your three vessels has arisen.
- Effective immediate, the Ark Royal, Malcolm Reed, and Megiddo will proceed to the Alpha Treibol star system. The system is the residence of the species known as the Kai, the most advanced of nine warp-capable species that reside in the Treibol Star Cluster ... otherwise known as the "Emerald Dawn." The Kai's homeworld is Alpha Treibol IV, otherwise known as "Kaisan."
- Around a year ago, the Federation attempted a diplomatic mission into the cluster that failed. Following the failure of the mission, official Federation diplomatic envoys in the region were asked to leave. However, a few civilian corporations of Federation origin have recently set up shop in the region. The Kai are renowned for their computer advancements, and as such, said corporations attempted to work with them for mutual benefaction.
- A month ago, a series of terrorist attacks began against Unitech Intergalactic and related Gestalt Holdings corporations. In relation, any Kai-related services that were tied to both Federation corporations were struck. The most severe of the attacks occurred six days ago. 76 have died so far.
- Due to the fact that some of those that have been killed were Federation registered civilians, the Federation Council has shown some interest in the situation. The Kai Government has now requested official help in solving the terrorist situation as their own forces have thus far been unsuccessful.
- As the closest available Starfleet forces in the region that have the resources to handle such a situation, your three vessels are to take point on this. The Ark Royal will lead the investigation and response, with the Malcom Reed and Megiddo as support vessels.
- Minister Envoy Emma Rose of the Federation Diplomatic Corps will be accompanying the mission to Kai due to her previous history with the species. She will lend her expertise and knowledge on the people & culture to track down the terrorists.
- Your mission is simple - go there, investigate the situation, and deal with the terrorists. Those that are captured alive are to be turned over to Kai authorities.
- That is all.
