Gestalt Holdings is a security / transport organization that thrives on maintaining support structures for trade routes in extremely hostile regions. Gestalt got it's start in the 2360s securing Federation civilian cargo traffic near the Cardassian DMZ during the Maquis era. Since the end of the war, its clients have grown exponentially. It is based out of Rigel IV, and has 25 operating centers throughout the Alpha Quadrant.
Unitech hired Gestalt to assist in the re-development of trade routes in the "wild west frontier" that the Emerald Dawn has become. Increased piracy and Cardassian opportunists have shown the need for their presence. Gestalt has a task force of 6,570 security personnel, pilots, engineers, and other support personnel spread throughout their 25 centers. 1,500 of them are in the Emerald Dawn.
